Position Description:
Program and maintain computer numeric controlled (CNC) production
equipment using CATIA software.
Analyze drawings, sketches, and design data to determine dimension and
configuration of cuts.
Provide input to manufacturing engineer in selection of cutting tools,
and determination of machine speeds and feed rates.
Check accuracy of cutter path using VERICUT verification software.
Observe operation of machine on trial run and revise program to
eliminate errors and wasted motion.
Write instruction lists and cutter lists to guide set-up and operation
of machine.
Generate machine control data by processing tool pathfile using a
generalized post processor.
Confer with machinists, engineers, production management, and possibly
customers to resolve machining and assembly issues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required; associate (two-year)
or bachelor (four-year) degree preferred.
At least 2,000 hours CATIA V4 or V5 programming experience.
Ability to read, understand, and clearly speak the English language.
At least three years of experience with five-axis high-speed machining
programming.
Experience with tool design and surfacing.
