Arlington-based organization is looking to add a project manager to its team to
help oversee a software selection process. In order to be considered for this
position, applicants need to have 3-5 years of project management experience
and an IT background, someone with experience as an application manager or CIO
would be best suited for this role.
We’re looking for someone who has managed the selection of packaged business
applications as opposed to infrastructure applications. This means that we need
a person who has helped select accounting, HR, and payroll software, as opposed
to firewalls and help desk applications. Because of the scope of the project,
the ideal applicant will have managed projects that consist of interacting with
users in a variety of departments as part of the same project.
Candidates interested in the post must have hands-on experience writing an RFP
and managing a project where requirements need to be defined and agreed upon by
a multi-departmental team. The RFP and the project in general should focus on
pre-packaged software that will require little to no custom development
In addition to the requirements outlined above, there are a few criteria that
we would prefer applicants to meet, though they are not necessary to apply.
These include PMP certification and experience managing process re-design and
re-engineering. Project management experience through the full SDLC process is
strongly preferred.
